Masonry

I formulate my own render mixes for the majority of the construction sites, often utilizing locally available resources.

Selected works – don’t hesitate to reach out to me for more information.

Why Masonry?

After a couple of significant hands-on experiences working with clay in Burundi and in Brazil, I realized that I was very enthusiastic about moving materials, shaping blocks, understanding building systems, and sweating in the dust.

I began to see a way for sustainable architecture thanks to the earth material and its never-ending cycles of life.

I followed a training that introduced me to the science of materials, how to make recipes, what ingredients shouldn’t be mixed, and how to learn from heritage techniques, such as lime or clay renders and tadelakts. I learned to build with stones thanks to my mason masters Jean-Marc Palacios and Gilles Nivot, and I am so grateful for the social and technical knowledge I have acquired on construction sites.

Today, I enjoy preparing each construction site, forming teams, scavenging materials and machines, discovering past hidden renovations behind the plasters and finishes and contributing to the building history with durable and limited impact designs solutions.

My experience also includes assisting with the installation of art exhibitions, such as “A Spoonful of Sugar” with Violette Morisseau (Ojalà Galerie, Paris) and the collective Diamètre.
